August 10, 2001 By: Patrick Snyder Getting a free unsecured credit card – what price do you have to pay?Having an excellent and not a bad credit rating, it is possible to obtain a free unsecured credit card. This might be an unsecured interest free credit card for the first 3 months or perhaps it is free in the sense that there are no application fee or maybe no annual fees or no fees at all. A totally free credit card does not exist so make sure you understand what free means. Sometimes people and even large credit card companies like Visa and MasterCard have different meaning for the word free. The costs of your free unsecured credit card is related to your credit rating. If you have excellent, good or poor credit or bad credit habits, it all affects the card you get. Costs are also related to competition amongst the credit card companies. Credit limits on your free unsecured credit card will depend on your ability to repay. Paying off your credit card each month, it is a definite asset to your credit and will be appreciated when emergencies arise.
