If you are United States citizen, a little over a handful of American states have a state law that entitle individual to one free consumer credit report every year. These states are Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, and Vermont. Though, in Georgia you are entitled to two a year. If you are a United States citizen who does not live in one of these states you may want to check into this, because it is possible that your state might have a similar law. Type in “free consumer credit report” and check into the different offer that are available, there maybe one perfectly suited for your individual needs. Here are a couple reasons why it is in your best interest to look over your credit history. One is to check for inaccuracies or omissions before they could negatively affect you credit rating, and two, is to find out why you’ve been denied or granted credit. The information on your credit report is the same information used by lenders concerning your credit history.
